Little Farmers Camp Director Dr. Wendy L. Hardy University of Pittsburgh Looking for a great way your kids to get close to the food they eat, get outdoors and have fun at the same time? Well if so the little farmers camp is for you. A few things that your child will enjoy are hayrides, petting zoo, crop picking and many other activities. (All activities, crafts, songs, and snacks are subject change)

Week 1: July 7th
“Born to eat corn”-
Art activities and books this week will center around
vegetables on the farm.Corn will be the
crop of the day that will be picked.So
get the pot ready to cook corn for supper.
Week 2 July 14th
“Big Rigs, Equipment on the Farm”-
Books and activities will be centered around all the farm
equipment used on the farm.We will take
a visit to the garages where the equipment is stored and maybe even see some in
action or get to try some out!
Week 3: July 21st
“Rainbow of Flowers”-
Flowers are everywhere in
Mrs. Simmons’ flower patch.Come explore
books and make art about colors and flowers and learn how flowers start
out.You are sure to leave with an
armful of colorful blossoms.
Week 4: July 28th
“Farmyard Friends”-
He may not be Old
MacDonald, but Farmer Scott has lots of animals on his farm.Sheep, goats, ducks and even a big pig named
Bubba.Get a chance to visit the
animals, learn how they are cared for and get a chance to feed them on the farm
with Farmer Megan.
Week 5: August 4th
“Life’s a Peach!”-
Peaches were off the menu last year, but this year....they
are BACK.Learn about peaches, how to
grow them and pick them!
